Before my break there was a vote on the next set of glamour films people wished to see posted, with four new films up for the vote. The votes are finished and the results were as follows. The Casting Couch (Angela Duncan) – 33%, Bathing Beauty (Ann Austin) – 25%, Turn Me On! (Wanda Liddell) – 22% and Session with Cleo (Cleo Simmonds) – 20%. So we have a winner in The Casting Couch featuring Angela Duncan with Bathing Beauty next.
The Casting Couch film is 15 minutes long and although it highlights Angela Duncan as the main model, she only appears for just over 5 minutes of the film as a secretary at the beginning and briefly at the end, although you do get some fabulous views of her body. The majority of the film features another slimmer model being seduced on the Casting Couch, which happens to be Harrison Marks actual office and at The Halfway Inn! Members can enjoy the film below 🙂 *This film is copyright George Harrison Marks Enterprises Limited
Time for another video clip featuring June and this time a never before seen original made by John W himself! Shot in 1985 Artemis & Aktaion is a 9 minute short film that represents a Greek story based around a red vase and basically features June in a red robe stripping and then rubbing oil all over her naked body, need I say more! Enjoy the clip as it’s a unique view of June on film later in her private modelling career.
Now you’ve enjoyed the clip for some more details about the shoot from John.
‘I tried to make it as representing a Greek red-figure vase. The meteor scene and the transformation into a stag were particularly unsuccessful and I re-shot them on video when I had the film digitized. It was quite difficult to get cloth of the right earthy-red colour. I eventually got it from Liberty’s in London. It was intended as lining for coats and was quite scratchy. I apologised to June about this, but she said she has had worse next to her skin. I made the shoulder brooches, which were decorated with palmettes as sort of visual pun, but they didn’t come out on the film. The running stag and jumping sheep sequences were taken from Edward Muybridge’s – Animal Locomotion’.
A fantastic clip of June that I keep revisiting and watching for some reason 🙂 and a big thank you to John for allowing me to share his own films of June, of which there is one more to come.
Note: This is an original video and subject to this copyright notice.
Long overdue, but time for another June Palmer glamour film from the archives of John W. This one is ‘The Fabulouls June Palmer’ – Parts 1 & 2 by Heritage films and is over 7 minutes long and features June posing nude on and around a stool in part 1. Part 2 starts with June having a quick cigarette break in a white negligee on the stool, before she proceeds to strip and pose nude on the floor. As with all the 8mm reel glamour films there is no sound, so as usual John has added the appropriate accompanying music to add to your viewing pleasure, as if June on film nude wasn’t enough.
Time for another video of June and this is an early one from the late 1950’s (circa 1959?) This 50ft 8mm glamour film titled ‘So Fur… So Good!’ was shot by Russell Gay and distributed through his company ‘Venus Films’ and came in two parts, which I have both! Part 1 below is in colour and runs for approx 3:42 minutes, with part two running for approximately the same time, but in black and white. I think like other June films both parts were produced in both colour and black and white, hence one part in colour and one in B&W.
Enjoy the film and after the break some more information around the film …
As you have seen by watching the film the premise of it is a simple one (were they ever complex!). June enters the bedroom with a new gift in the shape of a white mink stole. She proceeds to try it on and then subsequently strips off to try it on nude in front of a mirror, before laying on the bed to have a smoke, thus ends part one! Additionally as well as a copy of this film I have also published a few still images taken by Russell Gay at the same time … Here
This along with many other films come from John W and his impressive collection of all things June. He had the films converted from the original film onto DVD and added the music as all were originally silent. I think the type of music suits the clip well and the conversion to DVD and colour of the film have transferred very well in this case.
Hope you enjoyed and part 2 to come soon.
Thanks to John W I now also have a better and longer copy of June in Orbit starring June and Teri Martine. I’ve updated the main June in Orbit post where the new video is embedded and you can find a link to it below to view the new version 🙂
I had a very nice surprise in the post over Easter from John W in the form of a DVD containing a selection of June Palmer films. John recently had these converted onto DVD from the original 8mm/16mm Cine Films by Rutland Productions
, whom have done an excellent job! I now have a copy of all the June glamour films listed on her Filmography page
, apart from Beauty in the Barn Part 2, which John is missing as well funnily enough!
Anyway, the first of these films also looks to possible be one of the oldest and titled ‘Fabulous Jane’ for some reason. The introduction shows it was produced by ‘Stag’ productions and was film No.111. It’s only a short film at just over 3 minutes, but features a young June on a chaise lounge stripping off and then redressing in stockings, suspender belt etc. before stripping off again! As with all Cine films there was no sound, but John has kindly provided his own music to them all including this one, but the choice is excellent and all in keeping with the film and period it was made.
So onto the film … enjoy!
It must be time for another June video, so this time June Palmer with her long time close friend Teri Martine in the glamour film “June in Orbit”, in which Teri and June played astronauts forced to strip off when a meteorite storm heats up their spaceship. Filmed by June’s partner Arthur Howell in colour on the elaborate spaceship set it features June and Teri in some great gold outfits that end up being just little gold knickers and boots. Teri has fond memories of doing this film and recalls some of the details in an interview over on Gavcrimsons blog. I love the comments about the sweat being baby oil!! The spaceship set goes on to appear in many more June images and there is a particular set of June as Joanna Kent with the spaceship set in the background. More technical details around the film, it was filmed/released in 1969 and identified as Strobe Film No.7 and 165 feet in Standard 8mm (Colour & Black & White).
Anyway enjoy the film!
Update: I got sent a better version of June in Orbit by John W, so that is the version now included here and thanks to John for sharing all his June films with me 🙂
