Dawn Grayson – Do You Collect Orchids? (1966)

The delectable Dawn Grayson from Beautiful Britons No.131 (October 1966) posing in front of the fireplace in black slip, high heels and black stockings. You can’t beat a bit of Dawn dressed or undressed, but there is something very sexy about this early shot of her in BB. My favourite shot is the fourth one, where she is stood in front of the fireplace lifting her slip to reveal her stocking tops 🙂

Young Briton Rosa Domaille (1957)

A young Rosa Domaille later known as Eve Eden on the cover of Beautiful Britons No.23 (Sept 1957). Rosa looks very young on this cover posing outside in that blue polka dot bikini, which looks pained on after the photo was taken! So maybe in the actual photo she was naked? Anyone know or have the original to prove or disprove my theory?

Dawn Grayson – Pick Of The Pin-ups! (1970)

Dawn Grayson looking rather sexy with her hair up on the cover of Beautiful Britons No.178. I’ve seen several shots of Dawn in this underwear and wearing her hair like that, but for some reason I like this painted cover version better. A great smile as she leans against the side of the armchair as well.

Dawn Grayson – Beautiful Britons No.122 Cover (1966)

Dawn Grayson on the cover of Beautiful Britons No.122 published by Toco. I’m really not quite sure why they tended to enhance the images on the covers of some editions like this, where it seems the image has been given a painted cartoon effect? On this version they seem to have enhanced the blue of Dawn’s eyes and made her red hair look almost grey! Not really complaining, after all it’s still Dawn 🙂

Gina Martin – Beautiful Britons No.83

Gina Martin or (Tina Graham, Gina Graham, Christine Cater or Chris Williams, take your pick) on the cover of Beautiful Britons No.83 (October 1962). What I didn’t realize or make the connection was that Christine was married to Ken Williams the photographer, hence the name Chris Williams, doh!
I love the BB or Spick and Span covers and the attempt (sometimes bad) to colour a black and white photo for the cover, such as this cover of Gina. Still it gives it a certain uniqueness and appeal now.
