An early Christmas present to myself arrived today 🙂 Consecutive copies of Kamera from No.70 through to the last edition at No.89. All are in very good condition considering they are 50 years old, the pages are clean, crisp and flat with no fading and the colour on the covers as you can see is very good as well.
Very pleased with my purchase and it fills a big gap in my collection of the later Kamera editions, which surprisingly are harder to come by than some of the earlier ones! This little lot also features some of my favourite models such as Barbara Halks, Hyldagarde (Hilde Beck), Velma Loftus and June Palmer of course! This should keep me busy scanning on the run up to Christmas and it’s a tough job, but someone has to do it! Not that I mind staring at pages of naked women each day 🙂
I also have some duplicates, so look out for those being sold off to help my addiction in the near future! The duplicates are No.70, 80, 81, 86, 87 and No.88 if anyone is interested and wants to make me a reasonable offer?
The cover of the Diane Weber Album published by Kamera Publications. Although this and a few other magazines were published via Kamera Publications they were not Harrison Marks’ photographs, but imports from the USA. This particular magazine featured photographs of Diane Webber (Marguerite Empey) taken by Bunny Yeager. A very nice collection of photo’s of Diane posing down at the beach.
Sylvia Bayo and friend on the cover of Nylon Flash No.19, including the same full image from inside the magazine. Another great find of a magazine, as it includes a full 48 pages of Sylvia and friend stripping out of their underwear. I’m sure it was done on purpose, but the contrast of Sylvia in white panties against the other model in black panties works perfectly. The opposing underwear colours and skin tones highlight the assets of each other throughout and there are some superb shots of Sylvia’s great round arse as she’s helped out of her panties by the friend!
I’ll publish the full magazine once I’ve edited the whole thing and stop getting distracted by Sylvia 🙂
A set of covers from the publication ‘Light & Shade’ from the late 1950’s. I have a set of 15 covers from No.1 to No.15, but have no idea if that is a full set? These were produced by Russell Gay and published by Dalrow Publication Ltd. Pennine Publications, Bolton. A very similar set of magazines in the same style, including Tr-coloured covers was published under the title ‘Line & Form’, but by Eva Grant (I also have a set of these to edit and post).
I love the covers of this magazine especially the use of one primary colour per cover. and I think my favourites are No.8, No.9 (June Simpson) and No.12. Thanks must go to Paul from Firebird Records for all of these magazines and covers, a superb collection!
Jean Belvin on the cover of Klix Magazine No.1 from the late 1950’s. Jean also posed for Harrison Marks in some of the first Kamera magazines, as well as many other popular glamour publications. I only have a copy of the cover unfortunately, as I am curious as to what the free gift offer was?
Two shots of June Palmer on different magazine covers from the same photo shoot, but wearing different hats! The first is from Practical Photography (June 1966) and the second from the US publication Man Junior (November 1967). In both June is wearing a two piece white swimming costume and posing with a tulip in front of a 1950’s bull fighting poster, but wearing different hats.
The shoot obviously had a Spanish theme to it with the poster in the background and the two types of hats she is wearing, a Sombrero cordobés the smaller black hat and the more well known larger Sombrero. I prefer the first cover as it is just a standard photo of June, whereas the Man Junior cover looks to be lower quality giving it an almost painting feel to it.
Thanks to both John W and Paul from Firebird Records for the two different covers of June
Jackie Salt on the cover of Solo No.23 (1961) dedicated to images of her taken by Harrison Marks. Jackie appeared in both Kamera and other GHM publications during the early 1960’s, including one of the starring roles in the film ‘Naked as Nature Intended’, but I can’t say she was one of my favourite GHM models!
Compared to other models she had a very slim frame and very small perky boobs, which is probably why I shy away from her images, as I am much more of a curves man! Regardless of her figure, she always seemed to be very smiley in all her images and the film 🙂
Lorraine Burnett in long blonde wig on 3 separate covers of Line and Form during the early 1960’s. The publishers of this magazine defiantly got their moneys worth from Lorraine as she appeared on the cover of three consecutive editions of Line and Form with No.20 (Yellow), No.21 (Orange) and No.22 (Blue).
Lorraine also appeared multiple times within the pages of these editions plus as well as others, so obviously a favourite. These are fabulous shots of Lorraine’s curvy figure on the covers and the use of light and shade to highlight her magnificent bust! I think my favourite is the blue cover 🙂
Ann Wilson on the cover of Solo No.44 (1965) at Walden Manor. Nice dimples!
