June & The Wheel (Coloured)

Wow! I just love this coloured version of June appearing in Kamera No.27 (1960) by Oldiznewagain. The subtle use of the beige colours in the background really work on this shot, with only the red of her lips standing out. Normally Oldiznew adds a background colour or clothes colour that pops and makes the image stand out, but this works without a contrast.

Original image in black and white linked here, but decided not to post it directly as a comparison so not to detract from this great version.

June in Leather! (Original)

This is another shot taken by Stefan Glass from his set of photographs taken of June posing in different rooms of a house in the 1960’s. In the start of this small set we see June posing in just a leather jacket beside a dressing table and when I saw it I thought I recognised the shot from somewhere. It seems that Stefan did sell some of these images to magazine publishers, as this shot appears in Parade No.1206 (19th January, 1963) as a tri-colour shot of June, but a very cropped version.

The above shot is also a cropped version of the original below, but as you can see I also have the marked up contact sheet with the cropped version for publication, which is closer to the version in Parade. It’s always nice to find an original shot that later appears in a magazine so you can see the  full original shot 🙂

Note: This is an original image and subject to this copyright notice, but can be individually shared as long as the image remains unaltered and this website is acknowledged as the source.

Dawn Grayson – Through The Broken Window! (1966)

I’ve already published a very similar shot of Dawn through this broken window pane here, but this is another view taken from the same shoot. Again taken by Ed Alexander this shot appears in the Whitestone Book No.71 – Good Photography (1966). Thanks to Napo over on VEF who is currently scanning and publishing his collection of Whitestone publications
