The Mary Millington Movie Collection

As many of you will know I’ve always been a big fan of Mary Millington.  I’ve posted several images of her on this site from her film and magazine appearances. She was also a big influence on my early years of posting and helped define a few of my tastes! Following Mary also introduced me to some of my other favourite models such as Clyda Rosen, Rosemary English and Pat Astley. She also starred in the famous 1977 film ‘Come Play with Me’ written and directed by Harrison Marks.

Now thanks to Simon Sheridan there is a new blu-ray box-set featuring all of Mary’s famous films. The set contains ‘Come Play with Me’ (1977), ‘The Playbirds’ (1978), ‘Confessions from the David Galaxy Affair’ (1979), ‘Queen of the Blues’ (1979), ‘Mary Millington’s True Blue Confessions’ (1980) – all restored to HD, plus the 2015 documentary ‘Respectable – The Mary Millington Story’. Not only that but it includes an in-depth-interview with Josie Harrison Marks, about her famous filmmaker dad. Some of this was actually filmed at the Weston manor Hotel in Oxfordshire, where ‘Come Play with Me’ was shot in the autumn of 1976.

Simon also commented – “The box-set also includes Mary’s softcore 8mm films, trailers, audio commentaries and a new 80-page book which has some previously unpublished photos and details about her movies. Producer David Sullivan has written the foreword to the book, which is something he’s never done before. I’m extremely proud to have been involved in this project – curating it from the start and putting together – what I hope – will be the ultimate Mary Millington collectors’ package. I really hope fans enjoy it.”

Why you might ask am I giving this collection a plug, other than the links to some of my favourite models and Harrison Marks? Simon contacted me last year mentioning this project and wondered if I had any images of Harrison Marks with his models he could use as part of the documentary with Josie Harrison Marks. I was only too happy to help and provided a collection of my images for Simon to use if he wished.

Well now the box-set is due for release on June 22nd and not only have some of my images been used in the documentary, but I get a mention on the back of the box-set as one of the many great contributors! I am also very privileged to have played a small part in this stunning collection created by Simon about Mary. It’s safe to say my copy is already on pre-order at Amazon here 🙂

Finally, my aim for this site was always to provide high quality images and content that defined the early years of glamour modelling and filmography. Capturing the images so that they were remembered and never forgotten. The fact that I’ve now contributed to several great books and projects, including this one must mean I’m doing something right!
