A Polite Reminder … Again!

It seems that yet again people are taking my images from the site and using them on other sites for their own personal gain! This time my larger unwatermarked images have appeared, which means unfortunately it’s a member, despite paying a fee and agreeing to the rules here!

To be honest I’m getting fed up of it and I’ll happily stop the larger images and go back to 640 pixel images with watermarks for everyone. It will actually save me lots of time and effort, despite the fact most enjoy the larger images. I put a lot of effort into the quality of the site and images and there aren’t many better quality sites and images out there from original sources such as mine, so I suppose I should be flattered that mine appear regularly.

I’m due to go away for a break next week, so I’ll take the time to ponder my next steps and if I can be bothered to carry on!

  1. It’s a great shame that someone, or more, is putting their own self-aggrandisement on other sites ahead of their obligation to you here to ‘play fair’. A curse on them I say. Please don’t let these b*stards grind you down and keep up your good work here!

  2. If you have something of value, then thieves and plagiarists will sneak in.

This is a fantastic site, I hope that it will not be impaired by this issue.

  3. Somebody is bang out of order. Have you contacted the admins of the sites on which your pics have appeared? Another thought crosses my mind as I write – and I hope you’ll forgive me for asking this – are you sure that this site is the source? Given that the pics are 50/60 years old, posters on “vintage” sites may have acquired them elsewhere.

    • Alan you make a valid point, but in these cases the scans are from negatives that I own and have scanned and edited and cleaned up. so I know exactly where they came from 🙁

Nearly all of my posts now are originals from either myself or other reliable sources, so again not out on the web until posted here.

  4. I have any number of model name searches on ebay and lo and behold most are either my old scans or newer ones – even stuff from facebook, it is bloody annoying to see your scans being flogged on ebay as reprints

  5. I hope you find a solution and continue posting the larger images. Thank you.

  6. Having found a source of relatively innocent pleasure and fond memories I really would miss it. I know little ( nothing ) of the world you describe so have no suggestions but can appreciate your frustration .I hope you have a good break and can find the will and the way of continuing to provide such pleasant diversions in what can often seem like a very grey world.

  7. It seems anything is fair game on the web these days, although in reality it’s not fair that someone’s hard work is exploited and blatantly stolen. Please do carry on as I look forward to your posts very much.

  8. Thank you for your continuing efforts. If to protect yourself the pictures need watermarking and restricting in size then so be it.

  9. There is always one selfish bar steward who spoils it for everyone else here on this great site.

  10. It is annoying of course, but everybody thinks that everything is free on the internet!

But please keep up the good work!

  11. Just want to add my voice to the consensus of members who believe you’re doing a great job and who would be bereft if you decided to jack it in because of the selfish behaviour of a few internet parasites. I hope you have a great break and come back fired up to continue your valuable contribution to keeping alive the work of the glamour photographers of the golden age!
