Margaret Nolan on the Beach (Coloured)

A New Year and a new coloured image from Oldiznewagain, this time a classic one of Margaret Nolan nude on the beach by Harrison Marks. Taken by GHM on one of the many visits they made to Cornwall and originally appeared in Kamera (edition unknown), but would have been after No.45 (1962) as that was Margaret’s first Kamera appearance. I’ve included a high resolution copy of the original black and white as a comparison.

  1. Is it Margaret Nolan day? No objections from me if it is. She was, and is, awe-inspiring.

David

  2. this has to be one of my favourite shots of Maggs – and, you know, I don't think colour helps it too much, but it's a sensational picture

roop

    • Roop sometimes the addition of colour just doesn't add anything to an image and I agree with you on this one. I love the work Oldiznewagain does adding colour as I see so many other efforts that are bad, saying that I do tell him when I don't like it. Sometimes it's best to leave a shot as originally intended!

  3. Yes, looked at Oldiznewagain work on his website – it's very well done and he's very talented, no doubt about that!

roop

  4. So very pretty and lovable. I as admirerer of female beauty just thank you.
