June Palmer – Kamera No.61 Cover (1964)

Another great image of June by Harrison Marks on the backstage set on the cover of Kamera No.61 (1964) and one that I also have a negative of the same shot (below). The backstage shoot of June posing with the long black negligee is a very well published and known set that crops up regularly and this shot is one of those well known images. The photo used for the Kamera cover is a wider and much more vibrant shot than the one from the negative, but obviously the negative shot is clearer and the colours restored, so more natural. Great to see both together with the differences for comparison.  The negative was duplicated (Internegative) from an original for selling as part of the June Palmer slide set No.60, so probably the reason it’s cropped more than the cover shot and original.  As an aside, most of the June 35mm negatives you see being sold individually or in sets are probably duplicates of the original negative.

June & The Wheel, Part 2

The second shot of June Palmer posing with a wheel by Harrison Marks that were published in Kamera No.27 (1959). Unfortunately the shots have been retouched for censorship reasons back then, but the way June poses it probably didn’t need much retouching. If the date of Publication is correct then this would put June at 19 when she had these shots taken.

As they appear in Kamera I’ve published them on this site, but they will also appear on Kamera Club for completeness.

June Palmer – Teachers Pet!

A young June posing as a teacher of sorts from Photo Studio Vol.2 No.21. I’ve never had the good fortune to have a teacher looking like June or in such attire, but I chalk it up to bad luck more than anything 😉

June Palmer – A Fabulous Pair of Door Knockers!

The first post from my recent purchase of the Kamera Special ‘The Fabulous June Palmer’ by Harrison Marks (1964). This shot shows a topless June in slacks posing in front of the cottage door at Ewhurst Manor with a cracking smile on a 20 something model. This Kamera Special dedicated to June was 64 pages and shows June in various poses on different sets throughout her early modelling career with GHM.

It was difficult to decide where to publish this as it covers both of my blogs, The Kamera Club for Harrison Marks posts or here for posts dedicated to June, so I apologize now for the duplication across both, as for completeness it should sit on both 🙂

June Palmer – Fireside Pose (1968)

June Palmer posing on a chair next to a fireplace at Ewhurst Manor from Kamera No.88 (1966) by Harrison Marks and one of five shots of June that appear in this edition of Kamera.

June & The Wheel (Coloured)

Wow! I just love this coloured version of June appearing in Kamera No.27 (1960) by Oldiznewagain. The subtle use of the beige colours in the background really work on this shot, with only the red of her lips standing out. Normally Oldiznew adds a background colour or clothes colour that pops and makes the image stand out, but this works without a contrast.

Original image in black and white linked here, but decided not to post it directly as a comparison so not to detract from this great version.

June Palmer & The Spiral Stairway To Heaven

A different view of June taken on a spiral stairway in a leotard by Ed Alexander in 1966. This shot appeared in the Whitestone publication No.72 ‘English Glamour Models Photographed by Ed Alexander’ and was the only appearance of June in this publication.  Interestingly I’ve seen many other shots of June in this leotard posing on a car that seem to be taken at the same time, so maybe we can now attribute them to Ed Alexander?

June & The Wheel (1960)

A 20 year old June posing in Kamera No.27 (1960) for Harrison Marks. This time posing on the loft set, but again with a wheel in the background and a very similar shot to the one that appeared in Kamera No.23, not sure what that was all about! unfortunately the shot has been retouched for censorship reasons back then, but the way June poses it probably didn’t need much retouching.
