June & The Bed Sheet (Original)

A different shot of June Palmer from a set of her posing with a bed sheet, which I have 8 shots of varying quality.  What is different about these is that some are close up like this and the background is very dark with specific lighting used and focusing on June.  From a 120 film negative and possibly taken by Arthur Howell at Strobe Studio’s, but not verified.

June Palmer – Pink & Yellow Set, Part 1 (Originals)

As promised the first five images of June posing on a set consisting of pink, yellow and orange translucent drapes and what looks like a stool covered with tin foil! Probably taken in the 1960’s but actual date and location unknown?

June Palmer by Roy Tresadern

Taken from the centre pages of ‘The Model Magazine – Winter Indoor Edition’ June posing for Roy Tresadern and again holding a cigarette.  The Model Magazine was a 30 page black and white magazine that helped freelance glamour photographers with everything from make-up advice to studio’s and models for hire.  It was produced quarterly by Shields Picture Agency in Glasgow, Scotland and this edition is dated January 1967.

It includes images of several models, but has seven images of the Lovely June in various poses, including the centrefold above.  I’ve edited the image and removed staple marks as best I could 🙂

A Seductive Look Whatever Age! (Originals)

A couple of original images from John, showing a younger and older June but in the same seductive/teasing pose. 

The first image of June in the 1970’s is stunning and the combination of the finger in the mouth combined with her holding her long hair up works for me! The second shot was taken by John in the late 1980’s and although older, June still holds your attention with an almost identical pose, but with shorter hair!  It just shows you if something works why change it, plus June knew which poses worked throughout her modelling career and always used them to good effect.

The first image belongs to this set, but I only have the two images so far, so always on the lookout for more from the same set.  Likewise the second shot from John was originally colour, but needs some work so I’ll publish it at a later date.

June & Cigarettes

This comes from the cartoon page of Carnival Magazine in the 1960’s (Unknown date).  It shows June in a see through bikini or underwear set, including a baby doll holding a cigarette.  

What is interesting about this shot is the wide acceptance of posing with cigarettes in the 1960’s in magazines of this type.  I’ve come across many other similar shots where the model is posing smoking or holding a cigarette and have several of June in the 60’s and 70’s holding cigarette’s in formally posed shots as well as snapshots.  I know attitudes towards smoking have changed over the years as we realized what it does to your health, but it still seems strange seeing June and models posing with them! 

June was a smoker throughout most of her career and life, so there are many more examples of her smoking in images, so this is filed under ‘June Smoking’ as I publish other examples later.
