June Johnson – As Nature Intended! (1969)

As the publication says a shot of June Johnson as nature intended! A very full on view of a full on bush from June Johnson on the lantern cottage set by Harrison Marks from Nature’s Intention Vol.1 No.2 (1969). I don’t have many shots of June as only four shots of her appear in Kamera, plus a couple from Nature’s Intention, which is a shame!

A Fireplace Rear View (Original)

This was my first actual negative of June that I purchased and it wasn’t the best of quality.  It was a 35mm slide from Poland, but the negative itself was very red, hence the cheap price I guess! After scanning it to the best quality I could I’ve spent ages trying to recover the colours (I bought it over 3 months ago!). I’ve converted it to black and white, then back to colour again and never been happy until now, as I got too hung up on trying to get colour out of something that wasn’t there! Anyway I decided to keep it colour and quite like the red hue to it now.

Aside from the quality of the negative the shot of June herself is a fab one. It shows a younger June posing in front of a fireplace giving us a view of her figure and bum from behind and I love the curve of her hips and the dimples on her bum. Haven’t a clue who is in the photo on the fireplace.

Now for some trivia! Ferraniacolor was a medium format reversable film produced in the mid 1950’s onwards by Ferrania s.r.l. and located in Ferrania (Liguria), Italy who were later taken over by 3M.  So maybe this shot was taken in a photographic studio and not a front room, as why have a Ferranicolour poster up?

Music To Watch Girls By! (1964)

Maureen Tavenbeck posing in GHM’s Gerrard Street flat from the pages of Kamera No.61 (1964) and holding a Peggy Lee album. It’s actually the 1960 album ‘All Aglow Again’ and starts with one of my favourite tracks from Peggy, ‘Fever’. I’m not actually that big a fan, but both my father and grandfather were and I recently came across her collection of albums and singles they collected over the years. Seeing all those old records was fantastic and they may well be worth something now to a collector!

Shot three of ‘June & The Radiogram’ where she’s seen posing on a 1967 His Master’s Voice 2032 Radiogram. This is a closer cropped shot, but has her lying fully across it and they don’t make them like they used to, do they? I suppose that could be said about both the Radiogram and June, sturdy and great form  🙂

Wendy Luton – Sexy with Seaweed! (1964)
