A Flash of Blue From June (Original)

A shot of June from a negative taken at Studio Scottlee in 1982 by John Lee giving us a flash of her blue panties, highlighted by the red stockings! A companion to this earlier published shot.

Elaine Desmond – River Dance! (1966)

A shot of Elaine Desmond down by the river taken by Harrison Marks and sent through by Kevin from one of his original negatives. Location wise I’m still not sure this is Ewhurst, but rather a location down in Cornwall, as I’ve seen similar shots at this dam used in Kamera on Location 66 with Gill Evans.

June Palmer – Leotards & Ladders, Part 1

The first of a few shots of a non nude June Palmer posing in different leotards whilst posing on a step-ladder from John! God knows what these were taken for, but June seems to appear with step ladders and ladders quite a lot, obviously an easily accessible prop or a secret fetish 🙂

Thanks to John for sending them over, as it’s always good to see these unusual shots of June in the studio!

Vicky Ashley – Paddling Pool Pose (Original)

Never has a kids yellow paddling pool looked so inviting as in this shot! The second shot of Vicky Ashley taken by Terry Sparks in the grounds of Ewhurst manor in 1969 (10th June). A wonderfully composed shot by Terry of Vicky, with the wet yellow blouse working very well with the yellow of the pool. Only one more shot of Vicky by Terry left to go at Ewhurst, which is a shame as I’m really enjoying these shots of Vicky, especially this one.
Thanks again to Terry who continues to provide some shots of his fantastic work with the models, along with great narrative about his time shooting all these lovely ladies. He’s now sent me a list of all the models he worked with and wow he had a hard job and I look forward to hearing more about his time back then, as it’s always appreciated.

A Very Woolly Story (Original)

A very odd title for this post I know, but bare with me (pun intended!) After publishing this post  mentioning the fabled sheepskin rugs that appear in many shots from Strobe, itsgarden contacted me to give me this great little story about the said rugs.

‘As to the sheepskins, as you can imagine floor boards can be pretty hard to sit on/lie on for a couple of hours whilst posing for photographs. So when I first met June at ScotLee Studios the only complaint she ever had been the hardness of floor boards and the marks on her body they left. So being a country boy, I suggested she used sheepskin rugs to make the floor softer and to prevent marks on her from pressure points. I duly supplied 6 full-sized sheepskins to Brian Scott at Scotlee and another 6 to Arthur when I started to use Strobe Studios. She was forever grateful.’

So, there we have it, the origins of the fabled sheepskin rugs and where they came from and why they appear in so many shots! Well done Itsgardin as you are quite right, June didn’t need her delicate pressure points up against those hard floorboards, that just wouldn’t have done and thanks for the great story 🙂

Oh and the above shot of Itsgardin was used because there was some rug in the background and I love the sheer nightie showing her great tits and it was taken at the Scotlee studio’s in 1979

Christine Jensen & The Squirrel! (1968)

Two shots of Christine Jensen from a shoot by Terry Sparks that appeared on a couple of Russell Gay publications or work purported to be by Russell Gay! The first is Fiesta Vol. 1 No.11 (Jan 1968) and the second a Whitestone Book No.84, British Figure Beauty. Christine looks great on both covers, just not sure about that squirrel!
Thanks to Terry for sharing these great covers of Christine.
