The Kamera Club – One Year Old!

Another milestone for this blog this week, as well as the 1000th post a few weeks ago, I’ve been running this blog for a year! In that time I’ve made 1017 posts with over a million views and had over 900 comments or feedback on what I’ve posted! Not bad for a little blog I set up so I could enjoy images and articles around Harrison Marks, Kamera and other photographers and models from the 1950’s and 60’s! Yes, I may have wandered with the content and subject matter a little, but hey it’s my blog 🙂

Images of the opening of GHM’s photography exhibition at Gerrard Street,
including guests Pamela Green and Harry H. Corbett who opened the exhibition.

The last year has gone by in a blur and my passion for Kamera and this blog hasn’t diminished one bit, I’d say I’m more passionate about it and sharing all that fabulous work more than ever.  I’ve come across some great work, both common and some unseen and been able to share it all here.  I’ve made some great contacts that not only interact with me and the site, but have provided great insight and content from their own experiences. This has not only enhanced this site, but spawned ‘Just June’ a separate blog dedicated to the lovely June Palmer. I’ve also been contacted by some of the models that posed for GHM that are still around today, who have enjoyed the blog and that just blew me away as great praise indeed.

Thanks must go to everyone for supporting this site, including John W for all of his support and June content, Simon, Portland, Roop, Oldiznewagain, David, PhilD and the list goes on and on.

Where next? Onwards and upwards as they say! I will continue to post the things I enjoy and find for my own and everyone else’s pleasure. Where will it be in another year, who knows but I hope you stay to find out.

Thanks everyone!

Wonder

Terry Maloney or Georgette Gautier?

The debate rages on as to whom this model is and all I asked was was it Paula Page! Well thanks to Portland and his investigation I think we’ve solved or come to a conclusion about who the model is? It’s both Terry Maloney and Georgette Gautier, as images of both appear under both names and both have the same figure, boobs etc. So yet another model that used or had different modelling names!

A Perky Young June!

A perky young June from the pages of Connoisseurs Choice and Modelling Review Vol.5 No.9, showing a nice set of perky boobs on her!  It just shows you how much they changed as she got older, but not in a bad way 🙂

Margaret On All Fours!

A very sultry Margaret Nolan wearing a familiar striped top and pants on a bed. In this shot she’s on all fours with the pants pulled down and bum in the air giving the camera a very sultry look. Damn the mind wanders looking at this shot of her like that! One of the best shots of her in this outfit from what I’ve seen … enjoy!

A Nude June From a Different Angle (Original)

Another shot sent through by John and if you can’t see what’s happening here – June is standing on tiptoe, with most of her weight on her right foot, and leaning on some sort of 1960’s table. The camera is tilted at 45 degrees. One of those good ideas that doesn’t quite work. So the layout of the shot may not work, but It’s a nude June, what more do you want?

June in Orbit (Video)

It must be time for another June video, so this time June Palmer with her long time close friend Teri Martine in the glamour film “June in Orbit”, in which Teri and June played astronauts forced to strip off when a meteorite storm heats up their spaceship. Filmed by June’s partner Arthur Howell in colour on the elaborate spaceship set it features June and Teri in some great gold outfits that end up being just little gold knickers and boots.

Teri has fond memories of doing this film and recalls some of the details in an interview over on Gavcrimsons blog. I love the comments about the sweat being baby oil!!

The spaceship set goes on to appear in many more June images and there is a particular set of June as Joanna Kent with the spaceship set in the background. More technical details around the film, it was filmed/released in 1969 and identified as Strobe Film No.7 and 165 feet in Standard 8mm (Colour & Black & White).

Anyway enjoy the film!

Update: I got sent a better version of June in Orbit by John W, so that is the version now included here and thanks to John for sharing all his June films with me 🙂
