June Palmer – A Tight Squeeze!

A beautiful shot of a young June taken by Russell Gay and may well have appeared in one of his publications, but it’s unknown as to which and when. I’ve seen a similar shot of June in this outfit before, but that corset looks a damn tight fit to me, but I know that’s the point and gave a woman the curves she craved, but still looks like she can’t breathe! Love the outfit of black panties and stockings, plus the long hair and beauty spot. It also looks to have been taken at the same time as the glamour film ‘So Fur … So Good!‘, also by Russell Gay

Margaret Nolan – Everyone’s Favourite Poster Girl, Part 2 (Original)

A second shot from a set featuring Margaret Nolan posing amongst posters and magazines of herself. The first original image I posted back in October is here, but this one is more revealing and shows her smoking as well!

Bridget Leonard

Bridget Leonard was the live-in girlfriend of photographer Russell Gay and ran the office in Oxford Street for him, which was the mail order outlet for Venus Films. They split up around late 1967 early 1968. She was already modelling for Russell before she got a role in Harrison Marks’ first feature film ‘Naked as Nature Intended’. She first appeared in Kamera No.43 (1961) then Kamera No.44, 46 (Cover) & 54 and then in Solo No.25 dedicate just to her. Her only glamour film appearance was as a Wild-West saloon girl in the HM Glamour Movie No.106 ‘Gamblin’ Gal’ (1962).

The cracking shot of Bridget above comes from Kamera No.46 (1962) and features her on the cover and centre pages in stills taken on the Wild-West Saloon set featured in ‘Gamblin Girl’.

Ann Walker by Terry Sparks, Part 2 (Coloured)

The stunning portrait shot of Ann Walker photographed by Terry Sparks and coloured by Oldiznewagain
It’s very hard to criticize how well Oldiznewagain colours these shots as I couldn’t do anywhere near as good and the skin tones on this shot are exceptional. My only critique of this shot and I’ve mentioned it before on others is that as part of the colouring process he tends to lose some of the skin texture and the freckles on Ann’s face, but I’m just being picky as I love the overall effect as always.

Ann Walker by Terry Sparks, Part 2 (Original)

The second of two simple but stunning shots of Ann Walker taken in 1964 by Terry Sparks and a companion to this first shotI find it amazing that Terry had access to Ann and all the other models I post on this blog, so asked him the simple question, so who have you photographed? His answer below is a list of who’s who from this site and an impressive list of models.

‘You were asking which of the girls on your model listing I had worked with, so I have named them below. I have a few memories of most of them, but I won’t elaborate at the moment. One girl I worked with was Bridget Leonard. She was Russell Gay’s live in girl friend and ran the office in Oxford Street for him, which was the mail order outlet for Venus Films. Venus Films was the company he set up to market the black and white 8mm glamour films that we produced. They split up around late 1967 early 1968 if I remember correctly.

Ann Walker, Bridget Leonard, Britt Hampshire, Caroline Coon, Caron Gardiner, Cindy Neal, Cleo Simmons, Danielle Denise, Geri Brown, Gillian Evans, Gloria Lomax, Julie Collins, Lena Ellis, Lee Southern, Maria Frost, Maya Zell, Nicky Stevens, Nicole Yerner, Pam Arnold, Patsy French, Penny Winters, Rena Brown, Teri Martine, Terry Graham, Terry Peters, Tina McGowan, Toni Burnett.

There were others that I met or knew but did not photograph like Jutka Gotz, Margaret Nolan, Eve Eden and of course June Palmer who I dealt with when she was running her model agency.’

A pretty impressive list and thanks to Terry for sharing and I must ask him about some of the lesser known models on that list as I have very little to post on some of them!

Christine Jensen & The Squirrel! (1968)

Two shots of Christine Jensen from a shoot by Terry Sparks that appeared on a couple of Russell Gay publications or work purported to be by Russell Gay! The first is Fiesta Vol. 1 No.11 (Jan 1968) and the second a Whitestone Book No.84, British Figure Beauty. Christine looks great on both covers, just not sure about that squirrel!
Thanks to Terry for sharing these great covers of Christine.
