Just Jennifer (1959)

Jennifer Garland by Harrison Marks from the colour centre pages of Kamera No.20 P16 (1959). I don’t know if it’s just the colours used, but a lot of the colour shots of Jennifer seem to have her with very pink/red nipples or maybe that was a trait of her skin tone, if she was a true redhead? A great classical shot of Jennifer from an early Kamera.

Valerie Jones & Her Glass Cutters! (Original)

Another of the less published models of Harrison Marks on this site is Valerie Jones and the only other shot I’ve published of her is this one. One thing obvious in both shots is Valeries ‘Glass Cutter’ Nipples, as in both shots and a few others I have they seem to be very pointed and prominent. One assumes it was the natural state of them, more than anything else 🙂 Thanks to Kevin for sharing this shot of Valerie.

Just Georgina! (Original)

Everyone sees an image differently and scanning and editing original negatives is no different. What I think works with contrast, colours and sharpness may not be to everyone’s taste, but that’s why we’re all different! This image is a good example, as it came from an original scan of a negative by Kevin using a wet scan, which uses fluid on a flat scanner to remove scratches and imperfections from the image (go look it up!). I then took it and enhanced the colours, focus and crop to give the results above, not a bad effort I would say! Kevin has also posted his version over on Pinupmemories here, which as you will see is un-cropped and not as enhanced as mine, but equally as good, just a different view!

Going back to the image itself, it’s taken by Harrison Marks and the name on the negative was just Georgina, so no idea who she is other than that,if that was indeed her name?

Update: Thanks to Kevin the model is Georgina Michele and I’ve even posted on this site before here. As I said in my reply to many names and faces to remember them all, or too many different body types 🙂

On Your Marks with Lyn Hamilton! (Original)

This shot comes from Kevin and when I saw the model I recognised her, but couldn’t put a name to the face and body! On looking back through my lesser known and unknown models I believe this is another shot of Lyn Hamilton, but I may well be wrong?

If you look at the bottom shot in this post of Lyn, although at a different angle, it’s the same background, the hair style is the same, but then that hairstyle in the late 1950’s was very popular! What I can say with certainty, was that it was taken by Harrison Marks in the late 1950’s probably around 1957/58. So, is it Lyn?

Kay Fitzsimmonds – In Bed With Ted! (1960)

Kay Fitzsimmonds sharing a familiar bed with a large stuffed bear! I didn’t notice the bear in the shot until I started editing it, but then who would be looking for it when Kay is centre of attention. A great shot of Kay from Kamera No.27 P25 (1960) posing on a well used bed with familiar striped bedding, so either GHM only had one set of bedding or the bed was only used occasion for shots like this.

All Aboard with Pamela Green! (Original)

A restored colour shot from a Pamar slide of Pamela Green posing nude on a rowing boat on the Isles of Scilly in 1958. This shot along with a few other’s I have were taken by Harrison Marks as part of a shoot for his hardback book ‘Kamera on Location’. There are several different shots of Pam posing with this rowing boat within the book and all black and white, but these are the first I’ve seen in colour. Beautiful views in the background and foreground for all to see 🙂

Backstage with Pam, Mary & Madeleine (1959)

Two shots of Pamela Green, Mary Deighan and Madeleine Mado (Maria Hale) from Kamera Backstage (1959). Both shots are very elegantly done, with all 3 models fitting well into the same shot. My favourite is the top shot with Mary and Pam wearing the nipple covers or pasties, whatever they are called and Madeleine in the background. The bottom shot is all about the use of light and shadows bouncing off the bodies of the 3 girls and it works very well with the shape of the bodies and the different perspectives. One of my favourite early Kamera Specials 🙂

June Simpson – Platinum Waves (Original)

With her typical 1950’s wavy blonde hair, June Simpson was a regular feature in the early publications of Harrison Marks, appearing in Kamera No.2, 3, 8, 10, 11, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 34 & 35, plus appearances in some of his other lesser known publications. She also had Solo No.5 devoted to her, as well as appearing on the cover and inside pages of Kamera Special No.1, along with appearances in Kamera Special No.2, No.3 and No.5.

The above image is an early shot of June by Harrison Marks from an original negative takne in the late 1950’s, and features the familiar daisy wallpaper backdrop and leopardskin rug.
