Monique Devereux – An Ornamental View! (Original)

Monique posing in the garden at Walden Manor (I think!) leaning over an ornamental planter and showing off her curvaceous body. If you look closely you can see that Monique has two nasty scars down the inside of her wrist, which I hadn’t noticed before, not that I would as I tend to be looking elsewhere! I wonder what they were all about? Thanks to Kevin for sending over this shot of Monique by Harrison Marks.

Backstage with Monique (Original)

Monique Devereux posing backstage by Harrison Marks in some very fancy knickers! I keep saying it, but I’ll say it again, why does it always look like she’s sucking her tummy in, in many of the shots I’ve seen! You can even seen her rib cage in this shot, which looks slightly odd! Looking back at all the shots of her I’ve posted, her tummy is always sucked in and the ribs are showing, so maybe I’m doing her a dis-service and that was her normal figure?

A Cuddle From The Boss! (Original)

A different shot from an original negative, showing a semi informal shot of Harrison Marks himself posing with Monique Devereux in the late 1960’s. Taken on a sunny day in the grounds of either Ewhurst or Walden (at a guess) it shows GHM giving scantily clad and topless Monique a cuddle for the camera. I’d say a rare shot of GHM in front of the camera, but there seems to be plenty of informal shots around of him with the models taken by his team, and there was always such a photo at the beginning of most editions of Kamera and Solo.  A great shot of him regardless and he has a big grin on his face, but wouldn’t you with your arms wrapped around Monqiue dressed like that!

The camera you can see to his side is an Arriflex cine camera, probably 16mm with extendible hood, so obviously shooting one of the many glamour films he did with Monique.

Monique & The Purple Sheets! (Original)

A fully exposed Monique Devereux lying back on a nice purple patterned bedding set, giving us an excellent view of her body! This comes from a set of four negatives I recently acquired, which all include this colourful bedroom setting and Monique stripping out of a familair orange basque. I published a smaller version of this image in 2013, but now have a high resolution copy to share. Taken on a set at Scotlee Studio’s and thanks to Itsgardin for the identification.

Monique Devereux & The Wall

A perfect side shot of Monique Devereux posing by the wall in the grounds of Ewhurst Manor, with the square pond just visible in the background.  The pond seemed to be a favourite location for Harrison Marks and his models, both around the edge and in it, as shown in these shots of Monique

Monique Devereux – Breaking Free (1968)

Monique Devereux (Monique Leitzau) posing beside some very big doors for Escort Magazine (April 1968). Apparently according to the blurb, which is always true (not!) she was training for the opera before coming to England to model! Well she definitely had the lungs for it!

More Monique Devereux Amongst The Lily Pads!

Monique Devereux up to her knees in the pond at Ewhurst from the pages of Nature’s Intention Vol.1 No.1. More of her in the garden of Ewhurst with the pond in the background can be seen here, which were probably taken at the same time. Also a different colour version of her also in amongst the Lily pads … here

In The Garden With Monique

Monique Deveraux posing in the long dressing gown that she wore several times and was a well used prop with GHM.  This was from the pages of Nature’s Intention Vol.1 No.1 ‘Harrison Marks – A Series of Natural Art Studies’ (1969) ans shows Monique in all her glory!  Takne in the grounds of Ewhurst Manor by with the small square pond in the background.
